Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) Is a tropical shrub producing a kind of essential oil which is called the same (patchouli oil). In international trade, known as patchouli oil patchouli oil (from the Tamil language patchai (green) and ellai (leaf), because of the oil distilled from the leaves). The smell of patchouli oil known as 'heavy' and 'strong' and has been used for centuries as a perfume (perfume) and the ingredients of incense or incense on the eastern tradition. Patchouli oil is categorized in the essential oil with its main component is patchoulol. In Indonesia, patchouli oil is also distilled from a close relative of the original patchouli from Indonesia, Java patchouli (Pogostemon heyneani), which has a lower quality.
